Biography
Grzegorz Daroń is one of the most talented composers of the younger generation in Poland today. He was born in Bydgoszcz, where he attended secondary music school and Bydgoszcz Academy of Music in the drums masterclass of W. Mazuga (Class of 1993). In the age of 17 joined jazz-rock group WEST where he developed as composer, keyboardist, and drummer. He won with this band the main prize at the 1990 Jazz Juniors Festival in Crakov. Two years later he composed music for musical YOU`LL GROW UP FOR YOUR SINS present of Theater of Modern Dance GEST.
In 1994 he arranged symphonic-rock concert TWO WORLDS with Pomorska Symphonic Orchestra and famous polish rock bands: BAJM, ODDZIAŁ ZAMKNIĘTY, IRA, ROAN, AIR FORCE ONE, KOBRANOCKA, ZDROWA WODA and GRAFITTI. Concert TWO WORLDS was approved as event of the year`94 and a first event of that kind in the world. Grzegorz Daroń is the member – founder of Polish Film Academy. In 2000 nominated to TALENT OF THE YEAR AWARD, he is a composer of music for many films, documents, serials, tv shows and theatrical plays, song writer and producer of many records.
Grzegorz Daroń is also a highly valued musician and arranger. He is music director of JUSTYNA STECZKOWSKA band.
He was a phillar of bands: WEST, AIR FORCE ONE, THE ŚLUB, JAREK WEBER, ASOCJACJA ANDRZEJA PRZYBIELSKIEGO, LOS DESPERADOS, FUNKY XL, ABBEY ROAD, OSTATNI DZWONEK and Roan among others. He concerted in USA, Mexico, China, Brazil, France, England, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Holland, Germany, Hungary and Bulgaria. He has taken part in festivals like: CANNES 2003, WOODSTOK 2004, OPOLE 2004, JAZZ JUNIORS, FAMA, POMORZE JAZZ AUTUMN, JAZZ TOP, WARSAW SUMMER JAZZ DAYS, BYDGOSZCZ JAZZ FESTIVAL, FORTALICJE in Zamość, MALWY 2004 in Siedlce, ETHNA 2004 w Kielcach, DAYS of JEWISH CULTURE 2004 in Warsaw.
